One of the things that all of us need more in our lives is a deeper appreciation for the Scriptures and all the different types of worship that is available to us. The wrapper for of those is education.
I was just passed this link about the Integrity Worship Institute and I’m pretty inspired and encouraged – They provide training and education about the Scriptures and it’s tie to worship arts, media, and leadership.
They even have an Online Campus that provides certification through Columbia Southern University.
Their mission is:
To help people worldwide experience the manifest presence of God and develop a worship lifestyle.
IWI’s purpose is to equip church leaders, including pastors, worship leaders and ministers of music, to successfully lead their people into the transforming presence of God. IWI sees worship leadership training as a key component to making disciples, as worship is the indelible mark of all discipleship.

They’re accepting new applications and enrollment and if you’re considering serving in the worship environment (or if you already serve) I’d probably take a look at some classes from them.
Their goal is simple: To equip you as you Live, Learn and Lead worship. I can get on board with that!
This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. At 28 and with a baby on the way going back to school as a full-time student just isn’t an option for me. But as I’m branching out from being the “tech” guy at our church to taking on a worship leader position this is exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for to help grow. I’m enrolling for sure.
