Inspiration: Google Chrome Speed Test

I’m already sold on Google Chrome, it really is an exceptional browser. But this video isn’t about technology so much as it is about building perception.

Chrome has a brilliant feature-set that’s growing with each release. They have a wealth of material to build a video around. But instead of covering 10 or 20 or 100 legitimate reasons why you should try Chrome, they narrowed in on a single reason. Then they built the video around that one thing.

Speed. Check this video:

Then, they decided to have fun with it. Sometimes, when crafting a message, it helps to just remove the clutter and have a little fun. I mean, let’s look at what this video is really about. Hardware vs. Software. It’s not even a relevant comparison! But it works.

Well executed, guys. Seriously.

      Eric:

Granted, John Q. Websurfer probably won’t catch the distinction between page “render-time” and page “load-time”. I concur that is on the dubious side. But then again, like I said, the video is comparing hardware to software. So the comparison is already more about a story than it is about stats.
