There have been several "scandals" in the past where people have edited their own Wikipedia article, and that was bad news for them. I think some politician did this, but the example that comes to my mind is Adam Curry (see here: http://workbench.cadenhead.org/news/2818/adam-cur… who edited the Podcasting article a couple of times.

I'm pretty sure there's a Guidelines page on Wikipedia about the importance of a person versus their warranting an article, but I couldn't find it in the two minutes I spent looking. I've read it before, though, I'm sure. Basically, you've got to actually be important, arbitrarily speaking. I think that's pretty cool. Gives me a goal.
