Normally we’re talking about Internet security and the importance of updating your online passwords. I would never have thought that social media and Internet security would have overlapped into the real world!
I’ve heard about burglars using social media, before, but never thought much about how they do it. By understanding how it’s done, you can take the right kind of precautions to avoid being targeted by a social media burglar!

I really wonder how big of a problem this is? I have never heard of an actual case of this. I have seen lots of articles suggesting this is a problem, but no actual news reports saying that real criminals are doing this. Crime as a whole is down pretty significantly across the US. And to really take advantage of this you need to have a relatively sophisticated system of identifying people on social media and tracking them.

I would imagine this occurs via acquaintances or hearsay, not necessarily trolls.
