Last month, when I evaluated the different social media networks, I predicted that Google+ would eventually be the social network to beat because it has a huge assortment of web apps, including the gigantic search engine, and it simply needed to set itself apart somehow.
Search, Plus Your World
While I do not think that it has yet done that, (Google+ Hangout is not enough to completely switch from Facebook or Twitter), it has already begun integrating Google+ into the search engine.
Now, when you search for something it will now give you the option to include people within your Google+ Circles. Obviously, you will need to be logged in to utilize this, but it is one step closer to social media domination.
Here is a quick video about it:
While the feature is not available to everyone yet, it will be rolling out over the next few days.
How much will you invest into Google+ now?
More or less than before?

I’ll invest about the same. I’d give it more if I could, but I’ve been hitting it pretty hard already!
Would love your thoughts on how well it has been for you and what you have been doing?
I simply dove in all the way as soon as it launched. I haven’t completely ignored Facebook and Twitter, but I’m using them a lot less. I considered it a “high risk investment” — if G+ took off, I’d be in great shape. If not, I’d have wasted a good bit of time. If you want an example of wasted time, I built up 6,000 followers on Google Buzz…
I’m finding it to be quite awesome. Having the asynchronous Twitter-like following model, but keeping comments coordinated in one stream, makes it easy to meet lots of new people.
For the last few months I’ve been telling clients to get in there and start playing around, as it’s likely going to get huge, but don’t invest too much time yet. Those days are done. As your post shows, it’s not going away and it’s time (particularly for your church/business) to hit it hard.
Love it! Thanks for sharing your wealth of experience so far!
This video LIES! as soon as you start typing the search results start showing up i don’t even know why they have a i’m feeling lucky button anymore.
Countdown: 2 years to Google+ domination. You heard it here first! lol
How do you define domination? Five years and 90% of today’s social media networks could be irrelevant and/or gone.
