Hmmm… Very good advice!
It’s dangerous and unwise to conclude that you have thunk just because you have Googled something. Google is a great tool, but it is no substitute for thinking.
At What If What Next we like to say that we deliver cost effective Web2.0 PR and social media marketing campaigns. Our first job is to tweeze out the interesting stories that our mostly industrial and technology have to say, but often don’t. They can be stuck in feature-benefit mode that just is not that interesting. Social media marketing campaigns work when you join relevant conversations with your company’s back story:
What motivates you to be in business?
What can you advocate for your industry and society?
What do you have to say to your industry’s Thought Leaders.
Google before you Tweet? To me that means have something relevant, interesting and useful to say. HELP FOLKS and they will help you.

I think there are a lot of times when some ask for references or state facts of pump out “news” on twitter without AT LEAST consulting Google.
Funny thing is I was just reading this post when a colleague asked a dumb question that required ‘thinking before speaking’. I just showed him my screen.
At least he laughed.
