Giveaway: Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium for Mac

adobecreativesuite3webpremiumOne of the coolest things that develop in a growing community is the sharing of resources. This attitude and practice is very close to the heart of scripture, and I dig it a lot.

Tyler Sims is donating his old copy of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium for Mac to one lucky individual.

For many, Adobe’s products their “bread and butter” in terms of what they produce, but it can be a large hurdle to overcome financially. This particular collection originally cost about $1,700 bucks. It includes:

  • Dreamweaver
  • Flash Professional
  • Photoshop Extended
  • Illustrator
  • Fireworks
  • Acrobat 9 Pro
  • Contribute

So, if you (or your ministry) is in need of a copy, please just leave a comment below with your name and what you intend on using it for. The winner will be determined randomly this Friday.

Thanks so much Tyler for giving out of your abundance to someone else in need!

Also, if you’ve got anything else like this to donate, please let me know!

I would love to use it for the church and community.
I am a struggling freelancer who is still using Adobe CS and would the upgrade.
I know it is random selection, but I hope I get a shot.
I do a lot of graphic design for churches at a very cheap if not free rate. This would make the hard work a little bit easier

We are starting a church plant that could most definitely use the software.

I am a worship arts pastor in idaho. We have several people who are dying to do some design work but we do not have the software that we need. This would help us give people something to do!

Church planting in Anna, Texas and the suite would really save us money in the long run in design fees and outsourcing what we could otherwise do ourselves but can't afford to buy the program to get it done! Thanks for the shot…it's always fun to watch these giveaways…win or not! :-)

  5. July 20, 2009 at #

Great idea for the giveaway. I'm the pastor of a small but growing church and I also do all our graphic design. I do most of our sermon series graphics as well as video projects for the church. I'm trying to use Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements, but they just don't have the power that I really need. They work for most projects, but the lack of CMYK support has caused me trouble working with commercial printers. I've also used the free inkscape for MAC, but again, Illustrator is much easier to use. Anyway, I appreciate the opportunity. Thanks for helping a brother out :-)

  6. July 20, 2009 at #

I’m doing this for my wife who is our church adminsitrator.

Our church is going through a lot of change. Recently we acquired our own building which means such a huge amount of new things can be done. My wife’s job is set to diversify at a huge rate.

Currently she creates notices on software that is not up to the job. Creative suite would give her the tools to do the job right and as we take up a physical presence on our local high street it means we can be the vibrant church both spiritually and visually.

  7. July 20, 2009 at #

Wow. This would be amazing. I have still been operating off Photoshop Elements 2.0 for a lot of my design work. I’m going to be working on design marketing for a benefit concert called The Extended Melody Project. All donations for this event go to an orphanage in Brazil. With new software I would also be working on a good redesign of my blog which is up to raise awareness and funds for international adoption. I would also be using CS3 for educational programming and teaching that I do in the college residence hall where I live. Image is the new text.
Tyler, thank you for sharing and being communally minded.
    Peace,
    Travis

I echo the kudos for the great give away idea and a gratitude for the offering.

I'm an associate pastor at a church that needs help getting into the 21st century with its outreach and worship ministries. This suite will help us start moving there.

Great idea on the giveaway. My wife is a graphic designer and this would help to fulfill her dream of starting her own company as a way to give back to organizations like Love 146 and The Mocha Club. Here's to hoping.

My name is Santos Samayoa and I hope to use it to start designing logos to brand new sermon series for our single adult groups and sunday mornings. cant wait!

Reason: I don't need it, but my in-laws serving on the ground in Berlin, Germany do. Help me, help them. They're in need of such tools. No scam either. I would be able to personally verify the "transaction."

I am a missionary in Ukraine where we have a Bible institute with 500 (extension), working in both Ukrainian and Russian languages. We'd use this in making our logo, our website, catalog & oh so much more! Being in Ukraine, we are pretty limited in resources. Lots of pirated programs are around, but I want us to use only legal copies of materials. Finding them, let alone affording them is a trick. Yes, the programs are in English— but we're willing to work with them. Thanks for the consideration!

i go to a bible college and i am in the media department and this kind of stuff is my major…. but i can not afford to buy it. i would use it for practice for class and i also work as an assistant youth pastor at a church and would love to use the things i am learning in school to help my church so they don't have to pay someone outside the church a ton of money each time they need something done. this would also help with future job opportunities and my career. Thanks

if the contest doesn't work out for you you should check out creationengine.com, they have some wicked deals on Adobe products for students.

Ryan Brymer – I am on staff at my church and an aspiring designer. I currently operate 1 site http://ryanbrymer.com and I am looking to start 2 more in the near future.
I have been looking for a full time job since September. Most of the jobs that I find that seem like a good fit expect applicants to be proficient in these programs, but I am a beginner at best. So, I don't want to overstate things, but this package could help me get a job and provide for my family.

We are a 4 yr old church plant with very small staff. We're tying to enlist a lot of volunteer help & looking to expand some online presence. It would be helpful to have a portable laptop with the Adobe software on it so that our volunteer staff could be enabled to be a part of this work. Thanks! Mike Brennan

  28. July 20, 2009 at #

Great idea! Throwing my name in the hat!

Thanks for continuing to build great community here!

    blessings.

  29. July 20, 2009 at #

Wow. Good man! Thanks for doing this!

Well I would sure love a copy of that stuff. I do lots of my own projects and have to sorta make do with knock-offs of Photoshop, Illustrator, or Flash. I've got minimal access to the real stuff, so it would sure be nice to actually own my own copy so that I can work from my own computers.

howdy. we are planting a church! and it would be absolutely amazing to have access to this software for our church to be able to create early in this process! thanks for this giveaway!!! awesome!

  31. July 20, 2009 at #

    Hey there,

    Name is Ryan Spilhaus
At our church we don't really have any web design folks, and if we had this software either I'd be able to learn it or we'd be able to have volunteers come in and use it! Would be awesome ;)

  32. July 20, 2009 at #

I am the pastor of a church plant and we need all the help we can get. We are in the process of starting our marketing for our launch. We have people who can use CS3, but no way to afford it right now. Illustrator and Photoshop extended would be huge in helping us design our graphics, signs, banners, business cards, etc. Our web developer would love to get his hands on Flash and Dreamweaver to spruce up our site and do video (check the state of <a href="http://www.churchofthebroken.com” target=”_blank”>www.churchofthebroken.com to see more). We could really get a lot of use out of this. Oh, and per the rules, my name is Don.

I'm part of a small (but growing!) church plant in one of the least Christian populated towns in a very large area. There's only a handful of churches besides our own. We have a several of computer geek/creative minds (myself included) in our ranks that know how to use CS3 well, but we just don't have the money to get it. Anything to attract attention (especially from non-believers) would help, and I know that something like this software suite would go a long way in helping us extend our reach to our community.

I am a church planter in Keller, TX. My wife and I co-pastor our community together. We are attempting to find creative ways to connect with people in our suburban landscape. The resources in CS3 would be wonderful tools at helping us in communicating through art the beauty of the Kingdom. Digital media helps us return to symbol and metaphor. Thanks for your consideration.

  35. July 20, 2009 at #

We could really use this at our church to help with the promotional stuff we do. Using the standard mac built-ins just don’t cut it anymore…

  36. July 20, 2009 at #

I'm in college at Mississippi State University and majoring in Broadcast Communication. I also work for a local church as a media "dude". I love video and website production. So, I guess I would be great if I won the Adobe Suite…. However, I would have to clean up my hard drive because I have FCP and a bunch of other stuff on it… Well thanks for this great giveaway.

I'm about to go back to college and am looking at something in a media field; thinking web design but I haven't made a decision yet. But this would definitely help since I'll need Adobe software for classes. In addition, I would like to be able to assist a couple of pastor friends with their church websites. Right now all they can afford is hosting (can't even afford something like Clover), so they're using iWeb to design their sites and it'd be cool if I had the software to set them up with something really cool.

I am currently in charge of all the marketing, advertising, and web development for my church. Plus, I am the Youth Pastor, so I am constantly editing pictures. All of this I am doing on Adobe Photoshop Essentials (on my church's Windows computer) or on GIMP (on my hotness MacBook Pro). I'd love to kick it up a notch with CS3!

I am a volunteer leader at Nuevo Amanecer, an Hispanic Church, in the areas of youth ministry, media, and marketing. I have also just started a non-profit sports organization. Both organizations have little to no budget, so this software would be greatly appreciated.

I am Kyle Rodgers from Faith Community in St. Petersburg, FL… We would love to have access to this as we are looking be cutting edge. We are using the very basic programs that we have to the best of our ability, but we are butting heads with the ceiling week in and week out. It would open new avenues of marketing for all of our current ministries, as well as open doors for us to train some of our members to take this to levels we've only imagined

I am a missionary in Brazil. Our primary ministry is missions mobilization.
We are working with a team that has brought the missions course "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" to Brazil. I develop and maintain the website (www.perspectivasbrasil.com) In addition to the website, I have sort of become the jack of all trades for all things design related.

What an awesome contest. Best wishes to the person who wins!

church bulletin, websites, youth group promos, our various service projects and partners

I'm a volunteer at Lindehøj Kirke in the Copenhagen area. I do layout, graphics and photography for web, and print. Through my parttime job in another church I have access to a windows version of CS2, but at home I have an iMac so it gets a bit difficult. I would love to get my hands on this and use it to help out my own church and other ministries.

  51. July 21, 2009 at #

I work at a small church. I am building a media ministry basically from scratch. Because of this I am buying everything myself. All I have is a broken copy of Photoshop CS (Lost CD and have transfered between about 6 Macs) As you can guess by this point it's a little janky to say the least. Dreamweaver and Illustrator would also be VERY beneficial. Oh, and my name's Matt Lynn

  52. July 21, 2009 at #

    woooh, that is awesomly cool
I would use Photoshop Extended and Illustrator heavily for video and motion graphics.
But that and the rest would help with improving my web dev skills as well

  53. July 21, 2009 at #

I work with the Des Moines Dream Center and would love to use this package to spread the Word and the opportunities there are here in DES moines to be the hands and feet of Christ. For fliers for the community to presentations in churches and businesses this software will save us the time and money we can be giving to the community. Thank you for giving what you have extra.

First off I think Llappochkka should get it just for having that name.

I am a sophomore in college and working with a church plant. I have been designing logo's and graphics for several different youth groups and churches now for about a year. I currently have lineform and gimp, but both are fairly limiting. I would love to have this software but I'm sure there's others out there who need it more. Figured it was worth a shot though.

    Thanks,

I'm a freelance illustrator/writer and could SO use this! Been wanting it forever but haven't had the $$$ to make that happen. Thank you for the chance to win!

  58. July 21, 2009 at #

Definitely could use this. I have access to CS3 at work but it's for the dang PC. And I'm a Mac guy at home…so I don't have CS3 at home because I can't afford it. I would love to have a copy for the Mac so I can work on web projects from home.

It seems like any of these commentors would be worthy winners! As with some others here I am also about to be a part of a church plant, in East London. I will be designing the website so Dreamweaver and Flash would be great for me. My wife is the graphic design element and so she would use Illustrator and Photoshop.

We would also use it for producing ongoing leaflets etc. both for the new church plant and our existing church. Finally I'm about to start designing some free WordPress themes for churches for which most of the applications would be useful for.

  60. July 22, 2009 at #

We could use this to improve our church website!

I would love the suite because we're starting a media company and I've been designing the web sites for everything. It would be nice to have the opportunity to use some professional tools to help the ideas in my head hit the page (or the monitor, as the case may be).
