I’ve never met Matt, but I’m definitely planning on it.
Some of you may have heard of Matt in terms of what he’s been able to accomplish; and there is plenty that Matt could say that he’s accomplished.
God’s been obviously really good. I mean, when you’ve got a Wikipedia entry, it pretty much means that you’ve made it, right?
But there’s much more to Matt than just glitz and glamour; take a look beneath the hood and you’ll see some amazing talent with video. I think it’s pretty dope that God has him on His team now.
Word up.

Time Bandits or Favorite Websites:
When it comes to time bandits, Twitter takes top prize! No matter what you use it for I love how personal a medium it is. I’ve connected and met more people via Twitter that are like me in the last year than I have in my life time.
Websites: I follow 450 RSS Feeds via Google Reader on a daily basis, mainly following News and Technology, It’s a lot but it’s down a third from my last job. Sites that I just love visiting for inspiration and ideas are: http://www.boingboing.net/ http://www.notcot.org/ http://www.thecoolhunter.net/
Whatcha Working On?
I have the day-to-day stuff working as Communications and Media Director for Lawton First, but have a ton of side projects more than I care to mention. Some of the big ones are a video project for a Missionary/Evangelist to Russia, in development and scripting several discipleship teachings which will go into video production in a few months, have just pitched a documentary project which would hopefully benefit an Oklahoma Nonprofit and will bring a crew of Twitterati together to help produce and post the project.
One project I’m really enjoying is the redesign of my website, the project was birthed from a dear friendship on Twitter which leaked into #CTCDallas and #TrainFriday.
How do you see Web Technology impacting The Kingdom?
In many ways it’s been said in different forms from time to time, and I don’t want to be cliche but allow me to be for just this one statement. Web Technology the new “stained glass of the kingdom,” it is the first medium to really breakdown the walls of the C-church and allow Pastors and Leaders to truly pastor people.
There are “31 Flavors” (sorry Baskin Robbins) when it comes to reaching people via any medium, but think the web is a great venue to further, deepen, and explore the gospel.
I firmly believe from all the research and focus groups I have been apart, or led, that in order to communicate to in todays culture we must communicate via Infotainment. It’s something I dreaded as journalist but the world communicates now via media products, especially television and web, that mix information and entertainment. Various methods are used to accomplish this but the bottom line is to inform we must use substantial entertaining elements. It’s crazy I know, but if you observe the way people read or listen to things in the early 21st century, you realize that there aren’t many of us left with a linear attention span. Visual information is much more interesting than verbal information. So if you want to make a point, do it with images, pictures or graphics and online.
So I see an infusion of Social Media Tools, Discipleship, Technology and Media. What the end result will look like, Im not sure but I do know technology has the power to shape communities, and because of this, we ought to be careful in our use of media and technology. We must not to allow media and technological enhancements to undermine our financial integrity or to distract the Church from and supersede the message of salvation, which should always remain at the center of our worship.

Woo 450 feeds!!!
