Firefox 4, Top Tabs, & Usability

Yes, there’s a big difference between developers and designers but I’ve always thought it critical that each understands the others trade to some degree. After all, we work together in order to ship our products.

I know it isn’t officially code, but I get a kick out of watching developers and designers discuss why certain decisions were made with respect to their projects.

Mozilla put together an excellent video outlining their decisions regarding major UI changes to the upcoming version of Firefox. Check it out.

Love this kind of stuff. I especially dig what their doing with the App Tabs (kind of like Chrome’s application shortcuts).

    I hated tabs on top until I saw the possibilities with the future growth of the inter webs.

      Exactly. Plus, I think it just simply feels less intrusive.
