It’s the new look of Facebook, and for the first time, I like the changes.
Could this be the first Facebook re-design that doesn’t cause an uproar?

Did you notice how similar it looks to Google+?

But then again, maybe good design is just that. Good design.
For instance, look at Tweetbot (pictured left) and the native Twitter app (pictured right).
Not only do these two apps look similar, but they’re design structure is much like Google+ and the new Facebook layout, too.
I think this has more to do with design trends than mimicking. After all, why would Facebook use the underdogs design?

I think that FB’s new look is just based on the mobile-esque design trend. It does look similar to G+, but then again, as you pointed out, so do a bunch of other apps. I kinda like the new look…
