No one can predict the future, but I for one am very curious to see what will happen with Facebook in 2013.
I feel there’s a bit of a social media fatigue in general, but people are particularly fed up with Facebook after many (unwanted) changes and especially after privacy issues. There have been several friends of mine and even some big-name-bloggers who have deleted their Facebook account. I fear more will follow to be honest.
This infographic (which has more info on Facebook than you may ever want to know) shows that Facebook still did well in 2012 with over 1 billion users of which 58% returns to the site daily. Here are some more interesting facts:
- 57% of Facebook users is female, 43% male.
- more and more users are accessing Facebook via mobile devices, 600 million in total.
- 80% of businesses are active on Facebook. This is really something to consider, because if Facebook stops being the go-to social network, where will they go?
Where do you see Facebook going in 2013?
Is it still highly viable to have your organization or ministry on Facebook?
