I started blogging a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away called 2007 on a platform called WordPress. Since then, I’ve been a loyal, if infrequent WordPress blogger.
Eight years, folks—that’s a digital eternity! In five years, I’ve grown a lot—mostly horizontally—but WordPress has become bigger (the world’s largest CSM) but also deeper, boasting more and more features and a better, stronger core than I’d ever thought possible. I’m seriously amazed at the platform I have to write and publish thanks to WordPress. A little bit of code goes a long way!
To give us an idea of just how far WordPress has come, BlueHost—my personal web host, in case you care—recently released an infographic showing us just how WordPress has evolved since it’s inception…er…mutation from b2 way back even further in 2003.
WordPress has grown so much in the last twelve years that it makes me wonder where we’ll be in the next twelve. Or even the next three years, as WordPress approaches it’s fifteenth birthday.
Do you use WordPress?
Why or why not?

I started out on ‘Blogger’ back in November 2003. I moved to WordPress a few years later and have never looked back. While my blogging may be a little less frequent, it’s still a joy to use WordPress because …. it just works.

“It just works.” Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks for the comment, Rodney.

Oh, my. Good times. My first version was 2.6!

Yeah, I think “Duke”/2.0 was there for me at the the git-go. Rough times before auto-save.

LOL So true. 😛
