In a land where many people have multiple Bibles, both physical and digital, it can be difficult to fathom that there are more than 1.2 billion people in the world who have no access to the Bible in their heart language. To top that sad statistic, we learn that there are currently 2,000 languages that have absolutely no translation efforts underway.
Of the world’s 7 billion people, 1.2 billion are waiting for the New Testament of the Bible to be translated into their language.
The reality of this “Bible Poverty” led to the genesis of Every Tribe Every Nation (ETEN), a partnership of some of the heavyweights in Bible translation and ministry: Biblica, Wycliffe Bible Translators USA, and the American Bible Society. These organization and their international partners combine to produce 90 percent of the Bible translations in the world.

Three Exciting Things About ETEN:
1. Teamwork:
- These organizations are working together and not worrying about who gets there first or gets the credit.
- They are inviting other organizations to work with them.
- They are inviting you and me to the team also. Whether it be through prayer support, financial support, or inviting others to be involved, we can all be a part of this important ministry.
2. Translation Speed:
Using their combined resources and technology, they are working to reduce the time it takes to release an accurate translation of the Bible in a new language. In the past it has taken decades of labor for translations to be completed.
3. Technology For All Mediums:
They have created a Digital Bible Library where approved ministry organizations with a library card can gain access to the audio, video, print files and make them available in innovative ways to people around the world.
