SEO is important. It’s huge.
But, what happens when it becomes more important than your writing?
I read an article a while back on DZINE PRESS titled: Tips to Get Better Feedback on Your Website
The keyword for the post was Feedback, I think.
Call me crazy.
The word was used over 60 times.
60.
Here’s one of the paragraphs:
Crazy or not, don’t be a SEO sell-out.

Well said. For me, one of the biggest offenders is Droid Life (all about Android devices). I’ve pretty much stopped reading them because I clicked on so many links to “tag pages”. I pulled it up after I read your article, and this is a great example:

Both links in the text (one of which is bold) are to their silly tag pages instead of actual resources/details. To them, search engines are clearly much more important than humans, so good luck with that…

Yeah, that’s a toughy. You need to have those kind of links in your blog, but I would limit it to categories, as tags could get a little crazy.

I disagree – you DON’T need to have those kinds of links in your blog (as you don’t). Having a list of categories/tags below the post is fine, but I expect an embedded link to provide me additional information (again, as yours do) and not be simply a blatant SEO effort.
Eric Dye says
You’re right. We have to think in terms of human users, not Google bots.
