Great point dewde - we're trying really hard to combine affordability and power. One of our core tenets is to be accessible even for micro-organizations. For those even smaller ones like you're describing (maybe nano-ministries), it might make sense to combine some free tools and word of mouth. You can use free tools like Pledgie, Facebook causes, Tipjoy... (any that I missed?) and then grow in to a bigger system like Donor Tools.

Hundreds and hundreds of online ministries operate on $100 - $200 per month and have a whopping 2-10 donors. The online ministry model can run light and lean with low operating expenses. But even in this space, $30 /month is way over budget.

Know of anything specifically built to satisfy this growing niche?

I'm looking for a good WordPress plugin or widget that I can use to raise money for various charities. I want something that has a simple, graphic interface like a thermometer. Any recommendations? (I'm going to check out ChipIn.)

Thanks John!
Zack, right now we support online donations through Amazon Payments and PayPal. Both of thise products let you integrate a payment form into your website. In fact, I think with PayPal you can even use widgets like ChipIn and others. The way this works is that the payment is processed through Amazon or PayPal, and then those services notify your Donor Tools database, and the donation is recorded for you.
