Does an iPad Increase Productivity? 8BIT Finds Out!

As we had mentioned on the most recent 8BIT Network Podcast the team each got an iPad.

My hope was to increase productivity as well as provide opportunity to investigate the development of iPad apps.

Apparently most of them have decided to just download video games and take random pictures of themselves in strange situations.

*sigh*

Even the best and well laid plans can get sidetracked…

Hah!

I just hope the “honeymoon” stage in their relationships with the iPad will run out quickly…

    #7 gets my vote

I’ll comment on all of them and then cast my vote.

Andrew – Great use of a fisheye lens. Black and white with harsh light makes it disturbing (but in a good/creepy cinematic way) and the ‘eye contact’ is cool. He loses points for that haircut.

Chris – Creepy. In a creepy way. Creepy, Chris is stalking John creepy and this is his “I will kill anybody that gets between us” grin.

Jared – Cool idea. The only thing is however is that I’ve met Jared and despite all of those mean faces he’s making, I know he’s actually a real sweetheart. Still, it’s a cool image.

Kyle – Not bad. But dude couldn’t you have come up with something cooler to display than solitaire? Looks like you have an iPad running Windows 95.

Michael – Excellent idea on the iPad. I like that. However, his display of all his cool Apple toys plus what looks like an OCD-clean desk gets him docked points.

John – Hm. Asian dude. T-shirt with Asian dudes on it (at least I think so – I could really get in trouble for this comment). Holding an iPad constructed in Asia with the image of character from a game with an Asian name. I was expecting Mr. Miyagi to show up at any minute.

Tom – Loser. He obviously got his wife to Photoshop the other images together and put them all in on this one.

    Winner: Andrew.

Um, I photoshopped that myself and I don’t like you.

Now, Tom…..Jay obviously is a man of great taste.

I don’t disagree. My initial comment really had nothing to do with anything he said above. I was just stating my thoughts ;) .

Jay, solitaire is the stuff. And I wanted to represent what I spend most of my time doing…and the irony behind having an iPad that plays solitair that represents what Windows 95 was all about…solitair.
And I photoshop that guy in there so I should get some points for that.

I was going to say #7, but I’ll have to dock some points since the iPad is out of focus, but the iPad screen is in focus.

So my vote goes to Andrew.

1 makes it look like you and Andrew are “sharing a moment” … and I feel awkward intruding.

2 creative framing of the iPad with the leaves… but the Yoshi in me kinda wants to throw a red shell at Chris’ head. (nothing personal dewde)

3 a ‘headless horseman’ style pic here with the iPad holding the head off Jared’s shoulders would have shown that he’s willing to go the extra mile. (even though we all know he helps out like a ninja in the standard theme forum)

4 Kyle… your lighting is great… you gotta deal three at a time tho. ;)

5 Michael… haha. You’re getting the inside of the screen all smudgy! That’s gonna be so hard to clean.

6 JOHN GET OUT OF THE WAY!!! You’re about to get an apple up your nose!

7 Tom… it’s like you’re holding everyone’s world inside your own world. Makes me want to break out into song, “He’s got the whole world… in His hands…”

So I’m not going to choose… because that would be like saying that one team member’s creativity is more unique than another’s. And that’s not true… each one of you bring your own special brand of awesome sauce to the 8Bit Network and we thank you for all that you do!
    :)

I’m a little late, but if I have to choose, Michael wins by far. #5. Love it. :D
