Writing and blogging are two different entities for me. "Writing" I connect with working on my novels; this is a long-term creative process, much of which I do "for me," and includes a modest pay check. I love it. "Blogging" I connect with day-to-day communication with a sometimes elusive audience; like Twitter and FaceBook, I actually blog for accountability's sake (keeps me sharp), and for marketing (keeps people thinking about quality stuff I might put out). Even this comment, I don't "need" to post, and has admittedly taken 4 minutes of my extremely busy day, but I believe "forces me to write" something, if even of temporal nature. As you say, I like the challenge, and it keeps me disciplined. ch:

I love writing! I like blogging because it gives me a forum to practice my writing. I also like reading blogs that make me see life differently. Your blogs do that. Sometimes they make my brain cramp, but thats a good thing
