Making a blog about others instead of self is a great idea and a convicting challenge for me. I do try for that, but always worry if it is more for me than others. I also agree that you have to be careful about what you write, because without the face to face contact, it is easy for someone to get an idea about you different from how you think you are portraying yourself since you cannot easily judge their reactions to you unless they write back.
