Thanksgiving was great. In addition to spending time with my family, the highlight of our Thanksgiving day is to go down to the Children's Emergency Shelter and serve the kids that are there Thanksgiving dinner with a much of other bikers, and then hang out with the kids, play basketball, etc. I always look forward to that!

Had a great Thanksgiving in PA. Our little 10-month old did great on the flights to and from, which was a blessing – we were a little worried about that. It's good to be home though and back in our own bed!

  7. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was very low-key this year, a welcome change for this time in our lives, and we got to see a lot of family. No kitchen disasters or last minute frantic grocery store trips to boot!

  8. November 30, 2009 at #

Our family's Thanksgiving wasn't "Happy" at all, but it was "blessed". As we were giving thanks for our meal, my wife's Grandmother breathed her last breath and went to be with Jesus. There was nothing "happy" about it, but it was a blessed time of celebrating her life as a family. There was a closeness felt that hasn't been felt in a long time.

Awesome Thanksgiving with the family! Spent 3 days in Asheville, NC.

Thanksgiving went great! I love being able to spend time with the family. Friday was even better when I didn’t have to get off the couch all day!

  12. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was technically awesome. I used YouTube to find a new way to carve a turkey, and Google to statistically dominate my family at Monopoly.

  13. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was awesome. First time hosting it (Feeling pretty adult right now) and it went smooth. Had a great meal and fun time with some family board games like Pictionary Man, Uno, and Seinfeld Scene It.

Overall, my Thanksgiving was good — family and food are all good things. But it was tough to thoroughly enjoy because I was hacking up a lung ALL WEEK long. :-

  19. November 30, 2009 at #

Had the in-laws in town for the thanksgiving, and it was great. Ready to get back to 'normal' before Christmas.

  20. November 30, 2009 at #

It was laid-back to the point of being boring. Just me, the hubs and kiddo. Cooked, ate, cleaned up and chilled. Kinda nice, actually, since the pace of my life normally is INSANE!

  21. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was AWESOME! Although now I need to hit the treadmill…

  22. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was GREAT. Any day that essentially revolves around getting together with people to eat is a good day in my book…

  23. November 30, 2009 at #

  24. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was a great time to spend with the family! Just watched some football and got away from some of the stresses of work and school.

  26. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was … well … full of highs AND lows! Too much food in too small of a stomach – too many people in too small a space. Stressful and Thankful expresses it all!

  27. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was a great time. The in-laws drove out to Washington from Illinois and we had a big feast.

  28. November 30, 2009 at #

Hey John, my thanksgiving went great although it was a few weeks ago… I'm Canadian. We went to my parent's place for supper. How was yours?

Up and down Thanksgiving. Aunt is sick with cancer, and might not make it another week. We did our best to celebrate and say how thankful we were for her and God's Grace.

  32. November 30, 2009 at #

Some family was with us, which was a great surprise after moving to church plant! God is good, and we have SO much to be THANKFUL for.

I had a great Thanksgiving. We had a service from 10 – 11, then putting stuff away and getting ready for the weekend. Then my family and I drove to Wisconsin for 3 whole days together! Oh, and the Packers won!!! Good day all around.

  35. November 30, 2009 at #

My Thanksgiving consisted of me having brunch with my mother (at Waffle house!), then having dinner with friends. It was a great day that reminded me that when it comes to loved ones, I am very blessed :)

  36. November 30, 2009 at #

We looked at the moving picture box while the large baloon creatures floated down the street. Later we watched the large grown men throw the ball and hit oneanother violently. Thanks thanksgiving for those life-changing moments.

  37. November 30, 2009 at #

Chilled with the Fam, watched bad football and Madia goes to Jail and watched my 15 month old chow down on Turkey and mashed potatoes. Good day.

Had a great thanksgiving. Hung out with my in-laws and ate some good food, followed by a good nap. Can't beat that!

  39. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving for me was one of the best I had in years. I got to take my daughter (age 6) with me to serve Thankgiving lunch to the homeless and less fortunite in our community. She has such a compassionate heart and found all kinds of jobs to do while we were there. Getting to see her serve was so good for me. Watching all the volunteers interact and treat those who ate with us like honored guests was a amazing. Matthew 25 was fulfilled and God was given the glory. Oh yeah and I got to eat a great meal with my family that evening too.

  40. November 30, 2009 at #

My wife had nose surgery, so she was pretty sore the entire time. But we could still travel, so we went down to south Alabama (about a 6 hour drive). My parents moved to the country on about 40 acres of land (and a mule–the 4 wheeled kind) in a county with only one red light . We spent time with extended family and the boys ran around outside. We had a hayride, a bonfire, and slid down a hill on some cardboard. Great time away and unplugged. But always good to get back home.

I had a great Thanksgiving. This was the first time in 8 years I was able to spend it with my parents and sister. Usually it's just too much to make the trip home both for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But this year everyone came to me! If only my Seminoles had been able to upset the Gators it would have been a perfect holiday.

This Thanksgiving, my family shared a meal at my grandfather's nursing home. He's been there for about three months, and it specializes in Alzheimer's and other memory problems. It was a little strange, but it was wonderful to still be together as a family.

  57. November 30, 2009 at #

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving too. It was our first time out with our month old newborn son. His 18month old brother had a great time showing him off with us. Our family has had a baby boom this year and it was great to see my cousins' kids. It really was a great day for us.
At the same time, there is pain that cannot be ignored with the grateful attitudes that we have. There are family members that we miss, relationships in need of repair, and millions that thirst for water and search for food.
And so, my heart is overjoyed and broken at the same time.

Thanksgiving was awesome! For the first time in my young existence, the family thanksgiving was held somewhere other than my grandparents and for some reason they chose my house!!

Needless to say my wife is planning vacation for Thanksgiving next year!! It was hectic but lots of fun with family I hadn't seen in a very long time.

  77. November 30, 2009 at #

  78. November 30, 2009 at #

Yay for magic mice! It got me to comment for sure!!! Our Thanksgiving was great – we had 13 people in the house on Thanksgiving…that evening the Christmas lights on the house came on….Friday morning awoke at 3:50 for moral support to a friend who was forced to go to Target with his wife…then the Thanksgiving parade in downtown Portland, followed by shopping with family…and then home for leftovers and Christmas movies. WOOT!

  79. November 30, 2009 at #

***Don't count me as a contestant to win a mouse. I don't need one.***

    Thanksgiving went poorly.

Stayed at my inlaws, with about 20 others.
Daughter was up puking most of Thursday night.
    Plumbing broke Friday morning.

    Fail.

Thanksgiving was decent. Time with the wife's family was pretty good, especially time with my wife's twin sister and her boyfriend. We had a great time catching up and laughing. My MacBook Pro (naked, without a Magic Mouse to accompany it) made a prominent appearance in our YouTube video watching.

Thanksgiving was a blessing. After just getting back from a road trip to celebrate our 5th year anniversary, my wife and I were invited to join some friends of ours and their family for Thanksgiving. Great time hearing about what everyone was thankful for this year and then games and movies afterward. Fun.

Thanksgiving was phenomenal this year. Nice small get-together with my brothers and their wives. Very thankful for a great family.

Thanksgiving was awesome. We had a Thanksgiving dessert party on the prior Saturday night at the church – that was the most fun thing we did. We had an awesome spread at home, and spent the weekend getting the church ready for Advent.

  84. November 30, 2009 at #

    Praise God!

  102. November 30, 2009 at #

    Yeah, I'm that guy.

  103. November 30, 2009 at #

Those things are hotttt. thanksgiving was 10 ticks above average, but 2.5 ticks below Christmas. So there's more to look forward to!

  104. November 30, 2009 at #

I spent Thanksgiving with Family and then this weekend with great friends. They drove over from our former town. We talked about life. We dreamed about business opportunities that would help us advance the Kingdom. They live two hours away. Yet we are closer than many of the people that we know here. 3 families who live over two hours apart dreaming about how to impact lives on different continents. I give thanks for such a wonderful weekend and I pray that we continue to pursue these opportunities and I'm excited to see others join us in our excitement to leverage our "comfort and convenient lives" to live outside the box for the Kingdom.

  105. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was wonderful — love being with family. Got to take my oldest two sons deer hunting for the first time, which was a huge deal for me! And the food … oh my. Time to try and lose a few pounds again!

    I *REALLY* wanna win this!

  106. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving? Dude, it was truly thanksgiving! I got to sit at my Momma's table for the first time in 10 months! The food! The Family! Apples to Apples! Phase 10! And Tomato Gravy and Homemade Biscuits! (BTW, we're in Mississippi. We KNOW how to EAT!)

Thanks for offering a mouse to devour! (Sorry, I have Louisiana ties, too!)

  107. November 30, 2009 at #

Mine was pretty quiet. Mom wasn't feeling well that day, so we didn't have any family over for Thanksgiving dinner. We still ate awesome (and cholesterol-loaded) food, though, so I can't complain. :)

I had my first Thanksgiving with my wife. We live on the in Florida and our families are all on the west cost so we took the opportunity to get out of town alone. It was much needed and very relaxing! We made lasagna for our meal and it was wonderful. Who needs turkey?
Thanks for the sharing the wealth and encouraging us to remember.

Had a great Thanksgiving at the in-laws. Turkey was a little late, but we made up for it with a family talent show. Apparently we aren't that talented..but we did have fun!

My thanksgiving was a bit harried, but inexpressibly wonderful! My daughter's first child, Calleigh, was born on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, and came home on Thanksgiving Day! We were able to celebrate Thanksgiving a day late, on Friday, with a major new reason to be thankful!

My Thanksgiving was awesome! I spent it in a tent outside of Best Buy. I camped out for Black Friday from 4am on Thanksgiving morning until the store opened at 5am on Friday. It was alot of fun.

Thanksgiving was interesting. I went the week before thanksgiving because I had to work on thanksgiving and black friday… so while I was home visiting family I had a $690 car repair, sinus infection, and an allergic reaction to the medication. Other than that it was great!

  155. November 30, 2009 at #

Had a Great Thanksgiving. Relaxed and barely thought about working on the servers at all.

  159. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was awesome. The second one since I married the love of my life. We were able to spend time with family on her side and my side since we all live pretty close together. One of the couples from our small group also dedicated their baby to Christ in front of our church this past weekend so overall thanksgiving weekend was pretty awesome!

  160. November 30, 2009 at #

My thanksgiving was awesome, especially since it was a first thanksgiving for our first-born son Joel. Having the family together is better than anything in the world.

  161. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving was awesome. There was lunch and dinner with family, golf, movies, and even a little shopping. Oh, I also didn't eat a single bite of turkey… go figure.

  162. November 30, 2009 at #

Our Thanksgiving was awesome! We told our families that we are having a baby girl! It was a total surprise, most everyone assumed we were having a boy! We made cupcakes filled with pink icing, and they were topped with pink and blue icing.

  163. November 30, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving is always nice, big meal, but no worries about giving the perfect gift. Twice as nice this year with Thanksgiving meals on Thursday and Sunday :)

My thanksgiving went very well. I went to a friends house and kinda laid low. it was nice to catch up with everyone though. I've been CRAZY busy with school so doing nothing for a change is always a huge plus!

Thanksgiving was interesting….thought about not having my family here in AZ while packing up my wife's parents, who are moving out of AZ (They just got here 3 months ago)….that was odd.

However, my wife rocked some delicious food….not bad considering she could only boil water 6 years ago. Thank you Jesus and Food Network! :)

Did the feast with the extended family. Played games with the little ones.

The teenagers gathered at a different house, cooked, served, ate & cleaned up their own feast.

Then both gathered together for a movie that night.

Spent the day out in Borrego Springs, CA, in the middle of the desert. Was quiet and peaceful. Even went hiking out in the hills in the middle of the day, just me and my husband. :)

  184. December 1, 2009 at #

Disappointing despite being with family & getting lots of sleep. I think my expectations are too high for family gatherings. I'm just tired of everyone sitting around watching football games we don't care about, not talking, and grazing the entire day.

  185. December 1, 2009 at #

Thanksgiving rocked. Except for feeding my dog too much turkey and having to literally clean up the mess later.

I loved Thanksgiving. We've had my wife's family staying with us the last 5 weeks and they left to visit other relatives over Thanksgiving. So, it was just my wife, baby daughter, me, and football. Extremely relaxing Thansgiving.

I love thanksgiving in my family. Since I've gotten married, the number of dinners I get has increased to at least 5, all on different days. The best part of this year? Our brand-new baby boy, now 5 months old, got to meet family he hadn't before, including his Great-Great Grandma. See the picture at http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/MwN776D0h0jB
