Stories have power. It’s as simple as that. Stories captivate, inspire and have an amazing capacity to get us emotionally involved.
Stories matter in the Church. The Bible is filled with great stories, some real and some made up. Our sermons and teachings should also be filled with great stories, especially if we want to reach this postmodern generation who thrives on stories. Even our websites, Facebook pages and other communication should be story rich.
But coming up with great stories, telling great stories, that’s not as easy as it may seem. Last year, Emma Coats who works for Pixar as a story artist, made 22 rules for storytelling.
Twelve of these rules have now been illustrated.
