Working on a digital marketing team for a corporation means that you need to have more than one person that can do your job. As I wrap up the rest of my year long commitment with Youth for Christ before I head off to my new career, I want to not only end well, but ensure that this part of the ministry continues on. That means I need to ensure that I either train someone to follow in my footsteps or have everything written down.
So that is my project for the week. Here is what I plan to be writing down:
- Where do I get my tweets?
- What sources do I hold as valuable?
- How do I ensure that everything posts so frequently?
- What constitutes as a great corporation social media post?
- How do I find/create great images for social media posts?
- How do I reuse content to extend longevity?
- What web tools should I use?
- How long should I be dedicating to this?
- How do I maintain the quality of posts?
- What categories of posts should I be scheduling?
- When should I be posting?
I honestly plan for the document to be at least ten pages long and I know even that won’t cover it all. Of course, it simply comes down to the fact that it is not about me making something great, but creating something that will stand the test of time and continue to grow the company so that we can have better reach, build more relationships with people online, and get the name of the organization out to those that have not heard about us.
It might feel like busy paperwork now, but in the end, it is more about the success of the mission than myself. In all honest, I can truly say that I have worked myself out of a job.
This may be the last post of this series, but I feel we have a lot more to learn on the topic of corporate social media, blogging, and digital marketing that has yet to be discover.
