Jay, I'm honored to be mentioned and that I was an inspiration to you to start your new blog! You are a rockstar! I'm looking over your proposal that you emailed me again this afternoon actually! I have a meeting with my senior pastor tomorrow morning over breakfast. :)

I look forward to our continued friendship and learning from you. Keep rockin' the awesome!

Jay, I think you absolutely correct. The Church does need to connect with non-believers outside the church using all necessary tools. I wonder though do we have a comprehensive view of all the tools available to us and how to use them. Are we using those tools within a community context, i.e is it us reaching out or is it the Christian community reaching out through the actions of individuals?

I have extremely limited experience ministering overseas, but what troubled me the most was how little the Christian community actually communicates when it matters. Yes we communicate when money is involved, but what about for cooperative ministry arrangements between church of differing denominations in the same town, or who desire to minister overseas to the same town? A tension must be maintained, each side has value, we simply remember not to forget either one.

Thank you to Jay and Jake! And yes, great guest post. At times I think I do well at the being open part, at other times I feel like I need growth in that area. It can be disheartening sometimes when I'm rejected, but I know I must also remember that the Holy Spirit does the convicting and His Word never goes back to Him void. I experience times it goes well, and other times I walk away the main one learning something. I think that list is very helpful, Jay. Now it's all about figuring this out in formats such as blogging and twittering because that's so much more different than casual conversations that come up with a co-worker or person on the street. It's not like I walk around with my personal bio and political views on my t-shirt...well not often. ;)

Christina, one of the things you can do is check the lingo you're using. Those who don't believe are sometimes intimidated not so much by the message, but how it's presented. A cool link (which I found here of course!) is here that shows different things we can say. They mean the same exact thing, but there is a difference in how it is presented and could make a difference. I've started to integrate this into my blogging.
