Configuring WordPress with a CDN

The 8BIT Network runs a combination of it’s properties through the Amazon S3 Service, which has (so far) been fantastic.

It’s provided a better experience for our users and readers as well as provided some significant backup systems just in case we experience anything catastrophic.

Peace of mind is worth a few pennies, right?

And although we use a few different plugins to help us out (that we’ve configured considerably) here’s a great article on how you can configure WordPress with a CDN manually.

Thought it would fit some of the more “hands-on” and “I’ll-do-it-myself” geeks here…!

BTW, we use Automatic WordPress Backup and W3 Total Cache.

Your cache plugin is stupid. I always have to manually refresh your pages to see the latest version. Chrome on Mac.

are you just a rude person or is your online “persona” just rude?

cause you come off as just a jerk…

      but…

thanks for the hints. we want to improve your experience (and everyone elses) so we’ll look into it.

I’m actually quite pleasant. You just might not get to see that side since I usually only comment on stuff when it gets me fired up. For instance… fear mongering, one-sided articles, incompletely covered topics… etc.

Take my hyperbole as you will. Just want to raise the bar that seems set a little low.

          great response!

we’ve just started to build out these blogs and we’d love for you to contribute if you feel you can…!

we want it to be a community effort…! complaining without helping is sort of lame, right?
          ;)

      Agreed.

But not just Chrome on Mac – any browser I’ve tried appears to suffer the same. I’ve got into the habit of Ctrl+F5 when I re-visit a page.

Nice. For the more technical user, this is great info to really allow for not just faster load times, but also high availability.

I should have added – thanks for the heads up on this.

It’s not something I feel my blog needs right now but love the geeky aspect of this.
