Clover Launches Mobile Ready Versions

soulcitychurch_iphoneThose guys over at Clover Sites are definitely cooking some awesomeness up (including a new template like this one).

They recently announced mobile-ready versions of all of their sites on their blog.

I didn’t buy it (meaning, I wanted to see if it worked) and it did; SoulCityChurch.com is iPhonized as you can obviously tell by the screen to the left.

This is definitely a huge value-prop for their business and is a nice addition to their portfolio.

I’m actually quite impressed and excited that this was a considerable focus for their product team and the results look pretty.

I haven’t checked any other sites out, but if you’re partnering with Clover let us know in the comments so I can see some other goodness and examples.

WTG guys.

Keep knocking it out and I’ll keep blogging about you and your hawtness.
;)

That's a big step! I wonder how long till all websites require a mobile ready version…

    Hi John.
    I use Clover Sites.
I actually hadn't seen our site on my phone until you posted this.
    It looks crazy good.
Clover has been such a rad option for us.
    We highly recomend it!

Interesting work-around for the iPhone / Flash problem. I met the Clover guys at Echo Conference last year, and they're good guys. While I'm not at all a fan of (over) using Flash, their hearts are in the right place, and it's good to see them driving innovation.

Thanks for the props, dude. We're pretty stoked on the new feature… Hopefully it helps a ton of ministries out.
Oh yeah, and Jarrett- Your site is the dopeness.

You might want to charge your iPhone, by the way.

Jon, not to rip at all on Clover, cause it's sweet stuff, and I recommend it to people all the time, (especially if I don't want to build their site for them), but what's your take on the SEO value there? I think I saw they were working on some flash version of google optimization, but I'm not sure if I'm buyin that. I think your SEO will take a hit if you go clover instead of some well done xhtml and css. Obviously though you generally have to trade off something for high usability.

      Gabe,

They have advertised taht they platform is SEO friendly now, despite being flash. I have not yet tested this to be true and cannot confirm this since I'm not a client. Perhaps I should get some more technical info…

Hey guys- Check this blog post out about Clover's SEO compliance:
        http://www.speakingofclover.com/2008/06/search-en…

Gabe- all our sites are viewed from Google (and other engines) as HTML… Perfect HTML. Every word of text is searchable (along with PDF's and other documents).

Hopefully this gives you the confidence to recommend without hesitation!

Our site isn't 100% finished but it's looking great on the iPhone. Also as to the SEO quesiton, we come up as #1 on google searching for the name of our church and the city "Village Church Midlothian," and every page is viewable. It works GREAT. http://www.villagemidlothian.org

I'm not a fan of full flash sites for the church, but Clover is really stepping it up with the mobile friendly version. http://lifechurchcanton.org looks great on my iPhone. I wonder how it looks on a Windows Mobile phone.

Thanks Clover for making it so I can check the church site from a mobile device. Great work.

For the money their package offers a good user interface for the admins. I would like to see less pop-ups for the end user (calendar, sermon player, etc).
