ChurchCrunch with No Style…

So, who else is seeing ChurchCrunch with no stylesheet?

Apparently more than a few of you are behind corporate firewalls?

That’s really sad. I’m not sure, off the bat, how to get this fixed and redirected to another style.css file, so I’ll investigate… anyone have any experience and/or could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome.

Check the awesomesauce look though:

I’ve never seen this either. Could it be because all of your style sheets are running through Amazon and not your own domain name?

      yes. that’s the issue.

maybe include a simple .js link on the site that says “doesn’t look right – click this to activate stylesheet” and then have it load the stylesheet from another location and set a cookie for that user so it remembers them on future visits?

See…those people in those introductory HTML tutorials that say that you had better make sure your site is coded in a logical order were right! I always think to myself, “Now who browses the web with CSS disabled?” Well, I lose.

It might have to do with this style link in your code

Many corporate firewalls don’t allow what they call cross site scripting – pointing at something on another domain. It’s a security issue.

What does awesomesauce mean and why is everyone saying it? Or, should this be obvious? Like, it’s awesome. Or, does it have something to do with spaghetti. Sorry, but I am clueless. I love your blog, though.

To get around the blocking issue I usually use the cname feature to hide the fact that the assets are being served from s3. So it would show as http://assets.churchcrunch.com — A really nice feature. :)

OK that helps. The other day I was with a client at their office and was seeing screwy things when I was trying to browse the site.

    josh’s idea there is great.

i guess you could also use a little php to pull the stylesheets and embed the styles in the head?
