Today’s been an incredible first half of Church Tech Camp : Dallas. Opportunities to discuss major movements in the online space as well as some mission-critical issues that we’re facing.
There’s really nothing like it, and I’m digging it bad. Why? Because that’s my goal.
Apparently, there are a few “others” that think goals are pretty important. Seth Godin’s blog post today about Goals is right on. Go over there, read it, and see where you fit in.
For me, we have to have goals. It’s what gives us purpose and direction. It’s what keeps me passionate about what we’re doing. Perhaps, even, it may be “biblical” too.
But, I won’t go there right now.
The afternoon session will be, for the most part, either developing out those goals or understanding their impact. It should be pretty fun.
Do you have goals? Do you find them important?
Goals are tricky, in that we have one overarching goal in this life, the glorification of our Lord and Savior. Any goals we set for individual accomplishment must be candled against our commitment to His glory.
That being said, I think of my ministry aims as strategy and tactics to fulfill His glorification, and my seminary education as the foundation to start accomplishing what he would task me to do.
One needs direction so as to not waste the precious gifts and resources we have been entrusted to steward during our lives. I will be interested as to where the afternoon takes you.
Well said on the priority of glorifying God in all that we do.

Goals are crazy important to me. Can't get go any where or accomplish anything big without them!

of course goals are important..spiritually as well and mentally. It keeps us on track of where we are and where we are going. Starting to follow your blog today. Thanks for the great words at church tech camp so far. Sad they had to shut down the video feed.

Goals are the outcome of seeing what God would have us do and how we are going to get there. My goals are many. It takes a lot of planning and determination to keep up the paces. But God is good.
they can be. they can be a huge distraction too…
