Most infographics and info I’ve found pertaining to content management systems seem to have a heavy leaning or it’s simply too cut and dry–i.e. WordPress vs. Joomla!.
This one, however, covers it a lot better, as it begins with the basics of what a CMS is, covers some of the generic numbers, and then ends with various ‘alternative’ CMS’.
I would say, however, although the “average expense” is pretty high for most ministries and churches, the general discrepancies between the costs are fairly accurate.

Started off with Joomla, but WordPress is so much better

I’ve heard that a lot.

I use both Joomla and WordPress quite a bit. I used to use only Joomla, but have started developing more sites for WordPress. I have to say that the learning curve for my clients seems to be less in WordPress. However, If you have a large site with a lot of pages, I have found that management in Joomla is easier. Both are great and I will continue using both dependent on the project. For my day job, we also use a closed-source cms called Ekklesia 360. It is great in itself because it was created specifically for churches, but the buy in is a lot more than the open-source solutions.
