Blackberry – Made for Old Dudes

how-much-time-thumb

When smartphones first came into the market, it was the busy professional that was the target.

Just look at Blackberry and the focus of their devices.

What we’ve seen, is that smartphones are not as business focused as originally thought to be.

A survey was conducted to discover how much time, throughout a typical work day, is spent using mobile devices. Here is what they found:

74% of smartphone owners indicated they are using their device primarily for personal reasons.

I believe this explains the decline of RIM, and the steady rise of the Andriod and iPhone. Busy professional or not, smartphones are being used and it’s for personal use. If RIM wants to remain a big player in the smartphone game, they’re going to have to make some changes. If they don’t, Blackberry may spoil.
