One of the things that have plagued countless technologists and bloggers is the feeling of being “late” to the game… or the pressure to feel no up-to-date with what’s going on.
In fact, the feeling of pressure can be so damaging as to make you feel depressed, which doesn’t help your blogging (or life) one bit.
Let me put it to you straight: It’s OK. JUST STOP.
The pressure is all in your head. And, in fact, it’s just plain dumb. Who really… really cares if you’re “late” technologically?
I get a lot of people who write to me silently (through email) about their worry that they are late to the blogging game and the use of blogging as a technology.
“Guess what?” I say (in kindness)… “the only one who really cares that you’re late is you.”
Let me be an example.
The blog post just before this was about an article more than a week old. I was “late” posting it since I’m reporting on it “late”. But none of you cared, right? And the “conversation” ain’t going no where…! It’ll be here tomorrow too!
It takes time to write and blog good stuff. It takes even more time to be “wise” and to analyze what we’re reading and what we choose to blog about. We also have many different responsibilities as well… many much more important than your blog.
This pressure that you’re “dated” or “late” is complete and utter dog poop.
I could go on and say something pithy like: “Technology isn’t eternal… focus on what’s eternal Christian!”
But, you already knew that.

lol Awesome. Sometimes I feel like I am late to the bloggosphere since I just started this year, but thanks for the beef up!
nope, you're right on time… now onto that branding….!
big-daddy, i speak for the multitudes that we appreciate your wisdom and experience.this is a prime reason to rss!
You are so right that it's all in the head(have you seen the size of my skull?custom-made football helmets in high school)
rss baby. woot. god's gift to the ADD.
Better laste than never! As someone who will never stay on the bleeding edge, I am learning not to worry, to use the technology I can understand and reasonably master, and let the young bucks lead the way. If it is cool enough, someone will invent an easy to use and/or install widget at some point.

I agree – better late then never! However, there's only one thing worse than being late – and that's not turning up at all. My fear is that many churches just won't bother to turn up. It's ok to be late, but make sure you turn up at some stage!
very true!
