Being a Poser Has a Low ROI

toolsforchange_mikehyattMichael Hyatt’s presentation from the O’Reilly Conference a few weeks back is worth the listen.

His presentation titled “12 Reasons Why Every Traditional Publisher Should be Blogging” is dead-on in terms of how he evaluates the issue, and his key takeaways are definitely applicable to the Church and Ministry leaders everywhere.

One of the points early on really made me chuckle as Michael mentions how he encounters a lot of people who “talk tech” but who “don’t actually use it.” I’d have to agree.

Authenticity is the lifeblood of this technologically-social landscape that we interact with daily. It’s been historically true that it’s only a matter of time before you’re “found out.”

The truth of the matter is that it’s just too darn hard to lie on the internet. “True” anonymity is almost impossible because the tools that one can employ to track IP addresses and geo-locational technologies are a dime-a-dozen now.

Don’t be a poser because “posing” really doesn’t have a very good ROI.
