Adrian, You know I was thinking about that this morning…. I didn't mention what I do without my laptop.

I wouldn't recommend it for major production work but I have on occasion had to resort to LogMeIn – It's a free remote desktop app. You can log in remotely through a web browser Mac to Mac, Mac to PC, PC to PC or PC to Mac. (whew).

I can tell you for opening Photoshop remotely on a Mac it works just fine. Very lightweight service runs in the background on your desktop.

Awesome article, now are you using these tools while you do not have your laptop as well? I just wanted to know, because I mean if you have to do something like editing an image for a client that would require layers and such, what would you use?

Sometimes for something like that I consider using something like Gimp Portable. Which essentially is like Adobe Photoshop, but not.
