We all know that any EPIC adventure requires a group of four and that it’s dangerous to go alone.
Video gaming has made it’s impact on our culture and we can see the effects, today.
Just take a look at these statistics:
- The average video game player is 30, while gaming is enjoyed by all ages.
- 32% are under 18, 32% are 18-35, and 36% of gamers are 36+.
- 51% of U.S. households that own a dedicated game console, how an average of two.
- 43% of game players believe that computer and video games give them the most value for their money compared to other forms of media.
- That would explain why in 2012, $20.7 billon was spent on the game industry.

When it comes to entertainment value, I think they’re probably the most economical. Considering the cost of a movie ticket or Blue-ray purchase in relationship to the amount of time entertained, it’s relatively low in comparison.
As for the effects that it can have on us, I think we should apply the same standards we have for any other type of medium in terms of sex and violence; and like anything else in this world, it’s addictive qualities.
