It’s that time again. Word up.
This is our weekly Q and A session with the 8BIT Team. You can ask us anything and one of us will hook you up with an answer in the coming week.
Simple, right? Oh, and did we answer your question from last week? Let us know.

How long ago did you see the potential of something like 8bit? or Was it growth that demanded something like 8bit?
John Saddington says
i saw it from nearly day 1 of churchcrunch. crunch was an experiment to see if my vision was real or not. it was, and the community pulled hard that direction.
both an experiment and a little bit of luck… and a lot of patience and time.
PhillipGibb says
wow that is some serious strategy and patience. You’re a great example for us all dude.

This question has probably been ask before, so I apologize if so:
Will we ever see the 8bit sites have mobile versions as well? I know there is an 8bit iPhone app headed our way (which would suffice for me), but what about BB, Pre, Droid, etc. users?
John Saddington says
yes. we’re going to make the sites “mobile ready”… not just iPhone ready.
brett barner says
hotness.

I have an S3 account, but I can’t figure out how to set it up with my WP blog. Any tips, hints or suggestions?
John Saddington says
have you google the s3 plugins available? i’ve got a write up on human3rror and churchcrunch i think……
Nick Shoemaker says
Yeah. I went did all that. I’ll go back and re-read the posts. Maybe I’ve missed something. 😉
John Saddington says
😉
Nick Shoemaker says
Are you still using Amazon S3 Plugin with the W3 Total Cache plugin?
John Saddington says
just w3 total cache: http://human3rror.com/w3-total-cache-plugin-for-wordpress-eats-wp-super-caches-lunch/
Nick Shoemaker says
I am so far in over my head on this one! Thanks for the help anyways!
John Saddington says
:). seriously though, w3 total cache is the freaking awesomeness.
John Saddington says
if you can get it to work, that is… 😉
Nick Shoemaker says
I think I figured it out! It (the CDN settings) says I can’t list buckets (check my credentials). Huh? What/where do I need to check this?
John Saddington says
yikes… um.. maybe i should do a post about it.
Nick Shoemaker says

Hello,
I have been working on a redesign for my church’s website. I bought a WordPress template and made some changes to it. I believe we are going to go live with it very soon!
My question is this. I setup a folder called beta under my church’s domain name. For example, let’s say the domain is http://www.mychurch.com and I setup the WP install under, http://www.mychurch.com/beta
Can I just move everything out of the beta folder and move it to the root of my church’s domain and be done?
Thanks for all you folks at 8Bit do; it is a blessing!
John Saddington says
YES! it’s actually very easy. check this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
rAmador says
Hello it is me again. I didn’t know about that domain called “www.mychurch.com”; that is not mine obviously.
Thanks again!
John Saddington says
😉 not a prob.
