That wasn't a cheap-shot at folks in the PNW. I'm very familiar with the Seattle area, so I'm well aware of the the geek population in the area. What I was simply attempting to (poorly) convey is that I believe that area is one of the most beautiful in this nation and I'd be willing to sacrifice my interwebs access for accommodations out there.

Although I work for a company that has a large presence out there, they aren't willing to pay me the steep cost-of-living increase (approximately 30%) to relocate me from Atlanta to Seattle. Frankly, that's what it would have to take to get me to pick up shop and move.

I would exchange life without the internets for a nice lodge in the wooded mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Certainly God could broker that exchange?

Can I live without the internet, yes, but life would be more difficult because I have integrated it into my life. It would take some time to adjust and make sure things were not falling through the cracks of an already cracked life.
