“365 Project”
Doesn’t that sound fancy?
Basically, a 365 project is an online project, whether it be Flickr, Instagram or blogging, that is done everyday for a year.
Although you can start a 365 project anytime of the year, the beginning of the new year is an awesome time to begin. Even though today is January 2nd, there’s plenty of time to get started. If your project doesn’t require a photo or thought from each specific day, you can always fill-in the first few days in January. This isn’t rocket science.
A few years ago, my wife decided to write a blog post each and every day. Being she’s such a rockin’ mom and wife, she gets behind time to time, but she always finds time to catch up. After posting for every day of the year for the past two years, she has massed an amazing record of our family’s life. What started out as a challenge to herself, has blossomed into something our entire family appreciates.
Have you started a 365 Project?
A new blog?
A new online project?
Please, tell us about it!
We would love to follow along!
In fact, despite the fact that I’ve posted over 2,000 posts on multiple blogs over the past year, my own blog has been terribly neglected. So, my personal 365 Project this year, is to write a blog post on my own blog in 2012. I’m leaving it pretty wide open, since I feel like I need a “sandbox blog” that I can post just about anything:
- Information that is helpful for my clients.
- Fun stuff I find on the web.
- My experience as an editor and blogger.
- Life as a missionary in Italy.
- And more!?!
Remember, as John pointed out in his post, today (the #1 place about Blogging for Fun and Profit), undertaking something like a 365 Project takes patience. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
Tell us about your project and share a link, we would love to follow along this year!

I’m not sure I have a “365 project”, but I am going to try & photograph 15-20 more cemeteries this year for my personal photography project of Here Lies… as well as launch my new workplace research blog.

Cool!

I’ve started a diary / journal again. I have a collection of notebooks and diaries on my shelf from the years I’ve done this in the past, and I often think how rewarding it has been to write up my days. This time, though, things will be different. (1) I am using springpad’s app on Chrome, not a real paper book, even though I work on a computer all day and the thought of putting pen to paper appeals because this will make edits and changes easy. And this ties right into my second difference: (2) each entry will be no more than five sentences long (short!) so I will have no excuse to NOT make today’s entry and also because five sentences should be sufficient to make my point.

Awesome! Way to go, Len!

My wife did two photo blogs in one year the year before last (2009). She managed to take photos almost every single day (I think she missed about 3 days on each), but hasn’t gotten to uploading all of the photos. Her blogs are http://photo365.info/ and http://zak365.info/
I attempted (and failed miserably) to write a blogging engine over 365 days that year as well. My site (if it’s still up and running) is http://code365.info/

Very cool 😀
