Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata criticized app store pricing policies, saying that it would lend toward lower quality gaming. Meanwhile, Apple has hired Nintendo UK PR head Rob Saunders and UK PR stalwart Nick Grange of Activision.
With the overwhelming success of games like Angry Birds, being sold for only a buck, it would only make sense that a giant like Apple would consider diving into more traditional gaming. Microsoft made the leap years ago with the Xbox, and it its paid off.
Apple already has their gear in the hands of a large pool of users: iPad, iPod and iPhone. They all have their respective stores, so everything is in place.

- PR – check.
Now they just need the software.
