This is the best iPad case/keyboard accessory I’ve seen and it’s not overpriced ($50).
Pinch me.
The Keyboard Case for iPad 2 is made from aluminum with a high-grade finish. I was surprised to see it also has a hinge that provides multiple angles for viewing and typing in both portrait and landscape mode.
When you’re not using the Bluetooth keyboard, it’s the perfect protective cover!
My biggest worry was power.
No worry: The 510 mAh rechargeable lithium polymer battery will last several weeks of normal use without charging.
Features:
- Aircraft-grade aluminum with a bead-blasted, anodized finish that matches the iPad 2.
- Innovative low profile stand has no moving parts and holds iPad 2 securely in either profile or landscape orientation.
- Military grade high-density padding for superior drop protection.
- Stylish, thin and lightweight. Half as thin as most folios for the iPad 2.
- Island-style keys engineered to provide maximum typing room.
- Large, flat base allows for use on a soft or uneven surface such as a lap or on a bed.
- Embedded wireless Bluetooth physical keyboard.
- Special function keys for music control, volume control, slideshow, home, search, etc.
- Remove the iPad 2 from the Keyboard Case and your iPad 2 automatically wakes up. Place it back and your iPad 2 goes to sleep.
I’ll take two, please.

I want One!!
(Need an iPad first though! :/
First things first, eh!
I’d like one!
Wait, I’d also like an ipad 2. I guess I have to have one of those to get use out of it.
That would help, Brian.
Looks great & I’d love an iPad 2! But doesn’t this just turn it into a laptop? Why not just get MacBook air?
Why not both?
Is it bad to have an iPad case picked out before getting an iPad…?
Never, never and …. NEVER!
Now this gives me a reason to get an IPAD 2!
As if there wasn’t enough reasons already, right?
Wow it looks neat!
I want one too! I wonder how comfortable typing is. I love a mac keyboard feel.
Good question.
Sweet – you can turn your ipad into ‘chrome’ book
(do you think it would fit my 1st gen iphone?!?!!?)
You’re brilliant.
Um, you mention it not being overpriced, but failed to mention price. How much?
Right you are, Sir!
$50.
I’ve added it to the post. Thank you!
Yeah, I’d love the case, because then I would have an excuse to buy the ipad…. Oh, well….
I’m with you.
The big problem with these cases is the fact that you don’t have a mouse. You end up touching the screen to use the cursor in any apps that you would use the keyboard. Keyboard/mouse interaction is a very hard habit to break. Especially when editing text.
Once you start typing on the iPad in landscape all you need is something to prop it up slightly and you can be just as fast as using the keyboard.
That being said the Keyboard case is kinda awesome I just think I would end up back to using the on screen keyboard and it would sit on a shelf with my wifi finder t-shirt and dewde bobblehead doll.
What I have been looking for. That is sweet looking. It looked like it had some clicking action at the end..kind of like a very small trackpad..?
Hey, you mention a hinge for multiple viewing angles, but the mic store review specifically calls out the fact that you cannot tilt the iPad for different viewing angles. Are you basing your description on actual usage of the product?
Personally, I currently have the leather case with keyboard – like the Brookstone one, but the rubbery keys have failed twice. I am on my second replacement case now. I need one with real keys (like this mic store one) but am now leaning toward the ClamCase.
BTW, you can find this one in your post on eBay for a little less than $50 as of nowadays.
The multiple viewing angles was based on the video. I have not used it myself.
That’s too bad about your key’s failing!
Thanks for the info, Kenny!
That looks nice…. but it still doesn’t beat my Alphasmart Dana
