Adobe Launches BrowserLab Preview: Simple Way to do Cross-Browser Testing

Adobe has launched BrowserLab Preview, a simple and free service designed to help you do cross-browser testing with a few simple clicks.

Trying it out this morning was a breeze, and although there are a number of other services out there to help you do this type of thing I can easily see Adobe’s version becoming the weapon of choice for many designers and developers (and yes, bloggers too!).

The point, of course, from our perspective is that we should constantly be thinking about our viewers and visitors, and should do all that we can to provide a consistent experience for everyone. If we lose someone because our site is completely annihilated due to browser-incompatibility, that’s a huge loss for us.

How can be build relationships when they can’t connect with us in the first place? It’s our job to stay on top of cross-browser testing!

There’s rumors that it may eventually become a paid service, and they’re looking for testers right now (I’m hoping that by being a tester I get a life-time free account… but it’s a shot in the dark at best).

Sign up for free and get started, then start screaming in agony as your site completely bombs in Internet Explorer 6.0, just like my blog does.

Doesn't Safari 4 Beta -> develop tab emulate different browsers? I tried it but never saw anything different, do they work pretty much the same?

I devoted the better part of my Monday to installing (genuine) Windows XP through VirtualBox on my Mac and have been grasping for time to walk through: http://tinyurl.com/4ro9q6 in order to check out sites! You my friend are divinely sent! Thanks John!

Looks like they closed it off for now. Hopefully they'll open it again soon, and hopefully it'll still be free.

I hate IE 6.0, too, but, alas 12.5% of my readers are using it.

      Michael,

I typically have a few tweets here and there (and blog posts) that encourage a move onto a better browser…

      :)

      Thanks for stopping by!
