My Rig:
Dell Latitude E6500 Core2Duo 2.53, 4GB Ram, Win 7 Pro, Extended Battery, 1TB External HD, Docking stand w/ Samsung 18.5 LCD

It does everything I want it to (and more) and with having a 15.4 Screen, it's light enough to take with me when I travel, and We got a great price (sale was 700 below retail...) and had a 3yr warranty

It just works.

Good list of laptops and I love the Asus products at the moment. I even believe they came top in a "least faults reported" survey for last year.

I also firmly believe you could save even more money by buying netbooks. Consider how much folks actually use a desktop / laptop for these days and in terms of business usage it's likely only mail and office based apps on the whole. And do we need laptops for that with centralised / cloud storage?

If money was no object then everyone would have to have a personalised laptop from Alienware (even tho' Dell now own them).
