I agree. Thoughtless gifts are inconsiderate; fake gifts are inconsiderate. If a gift is not thoughtful (meaning it will have meaning to the recipient) it matters less what the value of the gift is. A true, heartfelt gift is priceless.

It is not the thought that counts. I don't want my aunt "tossing me a thong" (really happened). I am highly annoyed by fake gifts. Gifts are tangible and real. Thoughts are meaningful. They are not interchangeable. If you were thinking about me, then tell me. Don't throw me a thong or poke me. That tells me that you might have thought about me but didn't want to spend enough time to say hi.

As long as the giving is thoughtful and considerate ( just like a physical gift) the act is more important than the value of the article. Remember to give by caring, not just by clicking.
