To call this giant NES living room furniture set #EPIC would be an understatement.
Although, a bigger TV screen would help with the scale issues.

It’s amazing to see how many different social media sites have risen and fallen in such a short period of time. It’s as if the Internet has compressed our lives, how we live and businesses operate.
I do have a bone to pick with this infographic, however. Maybe that’s why they added this particular social media site to their list. To create a little buzz around it. If so, shame on them. 😉
They’ve listed Google+ as the second top social media fails!?! What the heck!?!?
It seems a little premature to call Google+ a #FAIL don’t you think?

Church marketing is a very tricky conversation point. There’s a very delicate balance between evangelism and strict advertisement to boost numbers and programs. As communication measures grow and increase we increase our methods of connection and improve ways to reach people. So how do we keep ourselves from getting lost behind the signs; from making the signs the point and forgetting why I put them there in the first place? The answer relates to intent. We post signs to create contact points. Not to pull people to your building or event but to reach out and help.

This past Summer I reviewed a set of devotional apps for iOS/Android. They were pretty solid, but I had a few critiques:
“The $1.99 price point seems a little high, to me, considering you’re only paying for features while the content has simply been regenerated.
Now, had this entire list of apps been crammed into one, you’d be a fool not to jump on it! [bold added]
Despite the price point, if you’re in the need for a daily devotional app, this is one to consider. I read a hardback version of Streams, so the Daily Streams app is really tempting me! It would be great to have it on my mobile device!”
I hope it isn’t too weird that I quoted myself, but I thought I would save you a click to the post. 😉
The developer of this fine app followed my advice and now delivers all five devotionals into one app! It’s EPIC!

I had the opportunity recently to look into how to do recruiting better for Youth For Christ‘s World Outreach and Military ministries. One big gap there was a social media and online presence that they as employers could use to recruit. In looking into this process, I found this infographic that highlights key points for not only employers to look at but you as the potential employees.
I’ve written before about how cool it would be to have a “one-to-one” church where individuals in the church could be equipped with an iOS device or digital camera as they do ministry, specifically with regard to documenting outreach and missions opportunities. Seriously, how cool with it be if the lay people in our churches were able to blog, vlog, or flood Facebook with ministry updates and photos?!
In that same vein, I was surprised when I saw this story on TUAW.com, “Drexel University intros MacBook Pro vending machine.” That’s right! A vending machine that dispenses MacBook Pros! Makes you wish you were back in school, right? Yeah, me neither.
