The 2012 year shown a radical increase in mobile devices from the traditional desktop and laptop devices and therefore a whole new market for the taking. Of course there are the normal characters like Apple, Android, and Windows, but who is using them and what are they using it for? Do they want to search the Internet or are they only using it to text and call others?
Here are a couple of great points on the infographic below:
- There were 2.3 billion Internet users in 2011 and 245 million of them were from the US. China had the most with 513 million.
- The top two operating systems for mobile devices is Android and iOS.
- Apple’s top devices in order are iPad, iPhone, and then iPod.
What do you think was the biggest trend of 2012?

Ummm… Could that be a typo under the banner “mobile users”? 1.1 BILLION 3G users in the US would mean that every man, woman & child has about three data plans each, right?
