A few people mentioned this past week that I’m “hardcore” when it comes to blogging and all this other zaniness online. I’d like to clarify those comments and mention that although it may look like it I’m actually not “hardcore,” I’m just seriously dedicated (or just dedicated…).
I think the difference is that there are things that, from a content perspective, I’ll never blog about; I’ve got boundaries associated with this blog as well as personal guidelines and limitations. Someone who is “hardcore” probably doesn’t.
One of the things that I hope is communicated through my blogs is a relative openness to the possibility of departure; that is, that blogging isn’t my world and the world isn’t all about blogging, and my participating, although intense at this time, isn’t forever.
I’m open to where God decides to lead me in terms of my online presence and I never hope to be “that guy” that stayed around too long to be any use to anyone.
Are you “hardcore” or just seriously dedicated? I’m not sure you have to be the former to be successful. In fact, you don’t have to be the latter either.
