hmm. a bit comical, but true…

i was thinking about establishing, to some degree, something along the lines of a "standard of conduct" list for blogging and social media… and a board to manage it.

big dreams… but it's very needed. cynthia ware and i had begun discussing.

That is very cool. Maybe we could also apply Jesus' summary of the law and demands of the prophets into our blogging principles as well.

"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind" (NLT): this applies to blogging as well. In everything we do, do it towards God and bring glory to Him.

Love your neighbor as yourself (NLT): Don't make the blog all about yourself. Link to other people's blogs and websites. Leave comments if you can add something to the conversation (I think every blogger loves to have comments). Do not solely bash the post author in your comments. Let the social web become part of your serving others.

Thanks for the great thoughts. I may have to reference this in one of my posts one day. It is a good and useful application of Biblical teaching.

I think that is a good idea. I think it is a good idea. If it could spread from blogger to blogger then it could work. Blogging has become so huge, it could help out (especially n00bs to the blogosphere).

If you create the board, may I be the fourth assistant to the second gaffe? I would greatly appreciate it.
